Catalina Birthday
Karen, Jaden, and I all headed to Catalina Island for Karen’s Birthday this past weekend for a short two day stay. We left on Saturday about noonish and we got back Sunday around 6:00 pm. We stayed in Avalon at the Catalina Beach House and had such a wonderful time. Jaden was excited to ride the big boat over to the island and when we docked we dropped of our stuff and hit the island. Karen got us all squared away for a couple of tours and the first one we did was the “Nautilus” submarine underwater adventure where we cruised around in this cove area and saw all the sealife around the island. Jaden loved the fish and really loved calling out for Nemo and Dori from Finding Nemo. The next day we did a similar tour, however it was just a glass bottom boat but it has the same effect and I would suggest that over the submarine tour for price alone. We did rent a little 14 foot boat and took that out for about an hour and a half and we went to the south end of the island near the rock quary and seal rock. It was pretty nice the whole trip until we went to return the boat and it stalled on us 4 or 5 times. It was pretty freaky with a child out on the ocean and a stalled boat but after several attempts I got the thing going and we got ourselves back the shore safely.

Nice… Wish I could’ve been in Catalina - sometime we need to coordinate a weekend when we are all there and we can hang out - kick it at Descanso, etc. What is the date of Jaden’s b-day?
You weren’t the people in the rent-a-boat who drove right through the Casino Point dive park, were you?? The scuba community is up in arms!

Hey Mark, happy 32nd Birthday to you! That would be cool to hang out at Descanso with you guys. That’s my fav place to be. Being able to have cocktails ON the beach, listing to classic rock under a grass hut umbrella doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with it! Naw, the boating accident wasn’t us. Scott’s a great Captain Feathersword:-)hehehe. He saved us from drifing out to sea. Ahoy me hardees!
