Clickin It Old School
Recently, I have come across two new fun toys to tinker with. The first one is my grandmother’s 1964 Agfa 5155 MoveXoom 8mm Video Recorder. Here’s a brief description from digitalcamerahistory.com
Typical 8mm movie camera of the era. Such cameras incorporated several improvements over their early predecessors such as electric rather than windup drive and electronic exposure metering rather than manual settings. Agfa Variogon f/1.8 variable focal length lens (9-30mm). Aperature f/1.8 to f/16. Sixteen frames per second or single shot (5155 manual).

During a recent quest for unprocessed film for this camera I ran across my second treasure and that is my very first camera, an old 1978 Vivitar slim line 110. Unfortunately my original Kodak is long gone to the gods of camera paradise but then I found this thing in a $1-5 bin at some little camera shop in Orange County. After talking to the shop guy for a minute he directed me to another bin filled to the brim with factory sealed 3pk 110 film cartridges for a buck. Score! Now I know that the 110 film is pretty low on the film totem pole of quality but it’s pretty nostalgic for me and also allows me to do some fun digital experimenting, such as digital comparison shots and what not. Anyway something new yet old I am working with.

On the Jaden front, his birthday extravaganza was a blast. A pizza party with family and friends on Friday and then Saturday was the MyGym all kids going crazy shindig. The topper was that he got his first full sized bike for his birthday and has been having fun with it for the past week.
