What I’m…

Posted by Scott in family, friends, music, school, television, video games

…watching:
Reaper, Weeds, Californication (Season 1 just ended), Dexter (absolutely the best show on television), Desperate Housewives, The Office, Scrubs, and currently burning through the 5th season of Buffy with Karen. Getting her up to speed on all things Buffy/Angel has been a blast and not once have I felt bored or distracted, which goes to show how excellent the writing, acting, and character development on that show was/is! Thanks to Jenna, Jim, Stu, and Lara for getting me hooked on it.

…should be watching:
Everyone keeps telling me that I need to be watching Pushing Daisies! I will get to it I swear! Also, Heroes is one of those shows I missed at the beginning and have coming soon on my Netflix.

…listening to:
Kevin Smith’s Smodcasts are BRILLIANT! Download them now and turn off any pg settings you may have on that MP3 player, Hair Nation on Sirius Satellite (cause you just “can’t get enough” Winger and Pretty Boy Floyd… hehe)

…playing on the PC:
Unreal Tournement (old school). I am however looking for a cheap system on Half.com or wherever I can find one so I can get up to speed on Guitar Hero III and Halo and the Orange Box.

…doing at school:
Currently I’m in a Network Connectivity class and just had my second class last Wednesday where I installed Windows Server 2003 for a perfect grade! I think it was the first time in the history of me owning a PC that Windows did NOT crash on the install! Whew! Also, poo poo on my school for canceling my Wednesday and Friday Practical Game Programming class and moved it to Saturdays from 9-2!!! FIVE hours on a Saturday morning is a killer for me! But oh well I’m programming and creating cool little animations (Hey Ann, Maureen, and Jenna, I’m finally putting good use to those ASCII skills from the Learning Tree days!)

…working on projects:
Putting together a DVD collection of old photos for my grandmother that spans over 120 years. The restoration I’m pulling off on some of these photos is remarkable! Just completed a DVD for our Aunt Florence on Karen’s side which was a collected photo presentation of the Evanskeys in 2007. Part 2 will be finished soon and sent out to her before the end of the year.

Dude, you should post a before/after of one of the restorations. I love that kind of thing.

BTW, you mention getting “up to speed” on TV shows and on video games. Is that “maximum speed” or is that “average speed”? Seems like with Buffy it would be Maximum, but with Guitar Hero it would be more Average; because when you’ve seen every episode (which is technically easy to do, if time consuming), that’s the end, but with Guitar Hero it’s highly unlikely that any of us will ever get a perfect score on Expert on all songs.

Check those Black Friday ads… you can pick up either the new no-memory “Arcade” version of the Xbox360 or the 20GB version for pretty cheap. bfads.net

You better believe I’m on it! My quest for a (cheap) system has already begun, but I will certainly be checking out the Black Friday ads online and bundled packages at all the big Costcos/Sam’s Clubs, etc.

I’ll post the first one I worked on for ya Curly which was dated 1888.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I recently played Guitar Hero for the first (and so far, only) time at a friend’s house and OH MY GOD, it is brilliant, and I love it so much, I want to marry it.
I’m going to check out these Web sites everyone’s mentioning for finding cheap game systems. I must own Guitar Hero, yet I am so very poor!
