Turkey, Projects, and Programming
This week was pretty jam-packed for the Evanskeys. I was able to finish off my DVD project for my grandmother and presented it after Thanksgiving dinner at my Uncle John’s pad. So with that out of the way school was still on for me Wednesday and Saturday which made things a little stressful in that we had had a lot of plans to spend time with my mom’s side of the family all day on Thursday and then on Friday we were prepared for a potpourri of friends and family coming over to our place for Thanksgiving 2: The Wrath of Thanks. Anyway here’s the skinny on what-for
As mentioned previously, the DVD is done and it goes a little something like this:

Title Slide

The Vander Kooi Family circa early 1900s

Feikema Family October ‘87

Scott - age 5 Jaden - age 4
Wednesday afternoon was Jaden’s Thanksgiving play at school where he got to play the part of a turkey. It was a little singing thing that all the kindergarten classes joined together to perform. It was fun and my dad dropped by last minute to say hi and decided to join us. Wednesday was also my network connectivity midterm and I’m feeling pretty dang good about it! The lab was design and Wide Area Network and plotting it out using Microsoft Visio and actually good remarks from the professor for unique and creative skills to designing within the program. Hooray! I’m throwing mad props out there to my buddy Joe for all those years of setting up “net nights” at his place and answering a bunch of nagging questions I had about what the heck he was doing. Who knew playing Doom, Quake, Carmageddon, and Unreal Tournament would lead to this… hehe.. I said Carmegeddon! Total Carnage!

Thursday was Turkey Day at my Uncle’s house where a bunch of the family showed, ate and lounged around. I presented the DVD everyone there but didn’t show off the entire presentation (it’s 240 photos and can be quite long). That will happen at the reunion this coming Sunday. It was good to see everyone and Jaden had a blast playing with his cousins and friends across the street.
Friday was T2, where my dad, our friends, Cris and Andy, and our other friend Chris all came by for more turkey and fun and games. We broke out the pool table and all had a good time having our misfit Turkey day. We’ll probably be starting a tradition with Black Friday Gatherings so look next year friends Black Friday invites.

Saturday was school for me from 9 until 2 and then after we all lounged around watching TV. I’m getting Karen caught up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and we just finished Season 5 and watched the first episode of Season 6. This was the transition time when the show left the WB and went to UPN (I believe) so dark storytelling time for this season of Buffy.
Today was all about going out and playing miniature golf at our fun time place, Boomers. Lot’s of pictures and lots of golf and tons of video games. WOOHOO!
