Merry MARVEL Madness

marvelvault3This post is the first of a few. I will be doing Christmas gift reviews for some of the awesome gifts begifted upon me. In no way is this meant as a slight to gift givers because you are all awesomey goodness with a center core of chocolate in my book. But I thought it might be fun to see some of these items broken down and turned inside out in case some of my readers might want to head out and pick up one of these coolio objects. Thus begins my gift reviews.

The Marvel Vault book is just plain genius for anyone who might be a comic collector of years past, a casual comic reader, or someone who finds the history of long running companies interesting. This thing is just like the cover says, a museum in a book and well worth the asking cover price (but should be easy to find discounted or used at any online outlets). Tons of comicy paraphernalia grace the insides of this book and the time it took to uncover some of the rare gems in here must have been brutal. These aren’t your run of the mill things lik…oooh, reprint of Amazing Fantasy #15 (Spidey’s 1st appearance), but rare in house stuff like a who’s who of ultra cool photos (Jim Shooter dressed as spiderman, 1st Comic Con pics), promotional items (Spiderman & Mary Jane’s Wedding Invitation from the 80s), repros of Marvel’s first trading card set, etc. I think it’s safe to say that many of my friends and maybe a few family members who read this site would thoroughly dig this book and I suggest any one of you who still has that inner kid in ya still lingering around should get this immediately.
