That Liberal Shindig (Mark and Katie’s Wedding)
Well this past weekend was the weekend we sent Mark off into marriedland. And even though I’ve known that Mark could party pretty hard in the old days, I learned that Katie and her family know how to throw a serious throw-down party!
The day of the wedding started off with some cruisin’ around venice beach on those “transportation of the future” segways. The rest of the day was spent preparing, organizing, and getting ready for the main event. The wedding and the reception were in the same room which was absolutely stunning. The ceremony went off without a hitch (except for the bride and groom… *groan* bad pun time). Then, when the ceremony was over we all headed into the waiting/lounge area where a full bar was waiting (including the killer ice sculpture/martini mixer) and after about an hour of mingling with tons of people I haven’t seen in over a decade, they opened up the reception room and it was dazzling. The place was pumping something fierce and the dancing was non-stop all night long with spectacular food and drinks in between! This was definitely a top-notch wedding and reception. Congratulations Mark and Katie!
