Hazzard is Back!
This will probably be the closest I come to liking something “Republican,” so for all you people who can’t get enough of your 80s reminiscing with the multitudes of VH1 progamming, then peep this, the Dukes of Hazzard trailer has been released over at Yahoo! so please click on the General Lee’s famous number to jump the virtual dry creek bed called the internet and watch a truly fun looking trailer. It actually looks and feels much like the show and if Sean William Scott as Luke, Johnny Knoxville as Bo, Jessica Simpson as Daisy (shockingly she is good), and Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg don’t actually convince you that this just looks like pure summer fun then I suppose you need to trade in that yuppie mercedes for a 1969 Dodge Charger and have Cooter weld your doors shut while you start drinking moonshine instead of that Starbuck’s Grande Latte Moca crap. Now, I just can’t wait to post something about the Magnum PI remake! In the famous words of Bo and Luke Duke… “YEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAW!”
Update: Whoops! I mixed up those dang Duke boys: Sean William Scott will be playing Bo and Johnny Knoxville as Luke. And all was right in the world. Actually, I blame the mix up on the Duke’s later years when Bo and Luke left to race Nascar professionally and their “other” cousins, Coy and Vance, came to fill in. *shivers with terror*

Hmm. I think Boss Hogg should be fat, but BR looks to be okay for the part. There’s one shot toward the end of the trailer where the General Lee catches something like 50 feet of air before crashing down on a freeway. Ridiculous, but awesome. BTW, you got Bo & Luke switched.

Does this open the door to movie versions of “The Fall Guy”, “Walker Texas Ranger”, and “Hee Haw?” Better yet, “Petty Coat Junction” and “Green Acres.” As long as we’re watching automotive stunts in the same location over and over, how about “T.J. Hooker: The Movie” or “CHiPs: The IMAX Experience?”

The fix is in Arlen and I forgot to mention Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessie. Stu, I can’t wait for the Fall Guy, T.J. Hooker and CHiPs: The IMAX Experience.

I don’t think that DoH is inherently Republican. Confederate, maybe, but not necessarily Republican. Let’s not drag the good name of the Confederates around in the mud.

Agreed! Definitely confederate! It didn’t become Republican until Coy and Vance took over.
