Cutting the Grades and the Grooves

Posted by Scott in family, school, snowboarding

Well Jaden has been doing pretty darn good at school and while he was visiting with grandma over the spring break Karen and I decided to do the big rewards thing for him. Today after I picked him up and we got home we presented him with his very own snowboard and equipment. We were planning on going tomorrow up to Big Bear but due to my back being instantly and completely destroyed we are postponing the trip to a few weeks from now. Instead of Big Bear we are planning to make the trip up to Mammoth and Jaden is pretty excited to go. Here’s a quick pic of the boy wonder and his new board!

What did you do to your back? And what are you smoking to think that a “totally destroyed” back will be ready to snowboard in a “few weeks”? :)

Cool looking board, there. Congrats to the young scholar!

For the life of me I couldn’t figure out what the heck happened. I woke up Tuesday morning and I couldn’t move and then it dawned on me that I was moving large chunks of stone and cement in my backyard, so that and the doing quite a bit of boat work the last few days threw my back into a twisted pretzel of pain. I was scheduled to go tomorrow but I think 2-4 weeks should be enough time to get me back on the board and don’t think I didn’t consider the old medical “oregano” heheheh.

Ah, yes, the heavy lifting can do that. I’m thinking that 4 weeks should be enough; plus, the prospect of getting out on the slopes has got to have a positive healing effect! Good luck.
