My Se7en Month Blog Coma Is Over!
Wow the last seven months have been flying by like a Dolorean going 88 mph! Okay gang let’s kick this thing off at full speed.
Finishing Up January
Not long after my last post in January, the old Prosoft crew got together for reunion lunch at a little park near the old office building in Santa Ana right across the street from the Discovery Science Center. Quite a few people showed up and brought their lunches or drvie through food and just hung and caught up with each other. A few kids were there and so the group moved their way up to a playground area and let the kids go wild. Everyone seemed to have a good time and hopefully we’ll be doing a summer BBQ at Jud’s pad in June.
The next Saturday it was finally time to retire the old BBQ and build our brand new Hot Rod Red crazy mofo Grill Machine! Karen’s bro Greg came over to help put the thing together and just made a day out of it.
Some old friends came back into our lives via facebook. Much like our Rock Band Party where my old high school friend
Karen and I got a chance to get caught up on our movie nights and being that it was Oscar season we took the opportunities to go out and see a few nominated flix: The first one we saw was “The Wrestler” with Mickey Rourke and Marissa Tomei. Both performances were great and really deserved the Oscar but sadly they did not go to either one of them. Another incredible film was Frost/Nixon and both Frank Langella and the other guy were fantastic! The family did get to go out together to see Hotel for Dogs with our friends Tracy & Amos and had a blast. Karen and Jaden love the movies about doggies now that we have two of our own.
And, oh yeah Bush is finally out of office and Obama is our new President, despite the craptacular economy and wars left behind by our previous screwup GOP crew!
Whole Month of February Gone
We started off the month with slam bang poker party at our friends Steve and Kerri’s pad and the boys got to play all night with some Lego Indy Jones and then with a bunch of Star Wars figures. Drinks and cards with friends and the boys playing (nicely) is always a good time.
February also had the Evanskeys back into online reunion mode. An old friend of mine Kim and her partner, Andrew stopped by for dinner and to hang out/catch up. It was pretty fun seeing her again and meeting Andrew and she brought a bunch of old photos by so I could scan them and put them into my growing archive of classic pics.
Towards the end of the month Karen threw a girly type party and the men were subsequently thrown to the curb :~( So Jaden and I packed our bags and headed out for the night. We headed over to our friend Sam’s house because his wife was at our house for K’s party. After a while we were getting hungry and Sam said he knew this place to go. Somehow we ended up a Texas Loosey’s which kind of put me on the spot. Oh well I guess girls with assless chaps won’t permanantly scar the boy… or will they!!
Movies we got in during February: Inkheart, Slumdog Millionaire, the International
It’s the Oscars, Baby!!
